Ten months (6 months adjusted)
We had a quiet new year's eve. Aaron was hired as a designated driver for his brother and a few of his friends, while I stayed in with Isaac, watched a movie, and read a book. It would have been a peaceful evening, except for all the fireworks that people were setting off, requiring numerous races to the nursery to soothe a scared baby back to sleep. Thankfully, by 11:00pm, even though the celebrations were getting louder, Isaac had fallen into a deeper sleep, and remained undisturbed by the festivities, which mostly simmered down by 2:00am as well.
"Gasp! You're home early!"
New Year's Day means football, so Aaron, Isaac and Otis got comfy on the couch and Daddy explained the rules of the game. Isaac seemed to catch on pretty well, only he seemed to prefer the opposing team, so as Daddy grumbled, Isaac giggled, and when Daddy cheered, he pouted and yelled.
The Man Corner
We don't get snow in Southern Florida, but that doesn't mean Isaac can't learn about it. Hopefully, in another winter or two, we can take him on a visit to the Midwest to experience it first hand, but until then, we'll dream of watching it through the window.
Isaac is almost (almost!) sitting up on his own now. He needs just a bit of support in order to maintain balance, but usually, if he's playing with a toy, it helps to stabilize him and he doesn't even realize that he's holding himself upright. His current favorite toy is a large orange ball that rolls in a circle, covered with buttons that make animal noises and play songs.
His gross motor skills are progressing nicely, as he learns the joy of bouncing up and down, and has come to the conclusion that it's the only way to travel. He's also starting to take notice of Otis, and is learning to pet him gently. Otis loves "his" baby, often sleeping by Isaac's crib, watching him play, and whining when Isaac gets fussy.

Lounging Like a Pro
Isaac has reached the age where we can start introducing solid foods, little by little. We tried mashed banana for his first fruit. He wasn't a fan. He also didn't like fresh mango, avocado, grapes or crumbled cheerios. We decided we'll wait a few weeks and try again.
Banana Face
He continues to amaze his doctors and nurses (as well as his parents) with his growth, achievements, and easy going personality. I'd say 2013 is off to a great start, and we look forward to the milestones and adventures it will bring.
